St. John Animal Control Officer, Jan Kalinwoski would like to remind all St. John Residents that all dogs and cats over 3 months of age living within the town limits are required to be registered with the town. All registrations are good for ONE (1) year and are accepted from January 1st thru March 31st. Costs are as follows:
Non-Neutered or Non-Spayed Dog is $20.00
Non-Neutered or Non-spayed cat is $10.00
Neutered or spayed dogs and cats are $8.00
Applications received AFTER March 31st will be charged a Late Fee of $10 in addition to the Tag fees. This fee is waived if the applicant has just moved into town.
Registrations must be done at the Clerk’s Office, Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm and proof of current rabies vaccination is required.
The easiest way to insure that your lost pet is returned to you is to have your pet licensed with the town and make sure that it has the town tag on its collar when outside the home. In most cases, your pet will be returned without a fine or impound/boarding fee as long as your pet is registered and wearing the tag when found.
